Restoring History with Purpose

How we are restoring the La Union Community Center, one phase at a time.

Project Phase I

1. Remove the left and right sides of the church, keeping the original structure intact.

2. The engineer will evaluate and inspect the building after the sides are demolished, and the building has been cleaned and sanitized.

3. Following the demolition of the sides, we will work to list the building on the State and National Register to have the building recognized as a historical landmark.

4. Continue to look for funding (private, corporate, state, and federal) for Phase II and III.

Project Phase II

  1. Restoring the roof
  2. Restoring the interior of the building
  3. Restoring the existing rockwall

Project Phase III

  1. Building new indoor patios for additional meeting, recreation, and entertainment spaces
  2. Constructing a parking space for residents
